Understanding RECO's Information Guide

What is the RECO Information Guide?
(RECO) regulates Ontario’s real estate industry under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2002 (TRESA). Starting December 1, 2023, all Ontario REALTORS® must provide and explain this guide before offering any real estate services. The guide ensures you’re informed about your rights and the standards REALTORS® need to adhere to.
Is the RECO Information Guide a Contract?
NO. There is no obligation for you to proceed after reviewing it, the guide is for you to understand your rights.
Why the Acknowledgment Matters:
Until you have acknowledged the guide, any REALTOR® legally cannot:
- Provide expert advice or opinions.
- Show you properties or prepare offers.
- Assist with decisions requiring their expertise or professional judgment.
